Michael got his pilot’s license in 1966. He worked at Transport Canada for over 20 years in Airport Planning and Environmental Affairs.
Since retiring from Transport Canada in 1998 he is a private consultant in aviation issues and has done some video editing training. He prepared Rockcliffe Airport Operations Manual for its certification under the Aeronautics Act and Canadian Aviation Regulations.
He is currently Captain of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association Flight 8 in Ottawa. On the web Flight 8 has a website and blog. Also on twitter @copaflt8 and @cfnds.
He has owned three aircraft. A Stinson 108, but that deal eventually fell through when it could not get it’s Canadian registration sorted out. An Aeronca Sedan 15AC which he owned with Mike Masek in the mid-70s. Finally a Piper Colt which he bought in 1991 and shares ownership with Jean-Pierre Sequin. The Colt is not currently flying.
He is also Vice President of the Short Wing Piper Club’s Short Wings Over Canada Chapter. In 2006 the Chapter hosted the Club’s first convention outside the USA. It was a resounding success.
